Just Like Daddy

Lately, Cooper wants to be just like Mason. He tries to do everything he does. It's so funny to me that Cooper isn't even 18 months old yet, but his dad is already his hero.

Yesterday after church, Mason got out one of his remote control cars. Cooper thought it was so awesome, and wanted to play with it all day, he was pretty mad when the battery went dead.
We have our scooter parked in the driveway we haven't even used it since we moved here, but somehow Cooper has a little boy sixth sense that tells him it's cool. Every time he has a chance he runs to it and climbs right on, and it's very hard to pry him off. Well, yesterday Mason finally got me to give in and let him take Cooper on his first scooter ride. We rode slowly around the neighborhood with Cooper sandwiched between us. Needless to say Cooper LOVED it and didn't want to get off. Cooper is 100% boy, and makes his daddy very, very proud.

Saturday

We had a great weekend! Ever since Mason started his new job he hasn't had to work Saturdays, but he has had a DAT preparation course every Saturday at BYU. Well, now that is done so we get to play on Saturdays! Mason has always had to work weekends as long as we've been married, so we are very excited that he doesn't anymore! On Saturday we went out to Thanksgiving Point to take Cooper to "farm country" it's a petting zoo that they have there, but it was really crowded and too cold & windy when we got there. So instead we went to the "Living Planet Aquarium" in Sandy. It was fun, but kind of expensive for how small it is. Next time we'll probably just go walk around Cabella's for free.

Let The Good Times Roll

Mason is done with his Bachelor's degree!!! On Wednesday Mason took his last final. He won't be walking until August just because we missed the deadline to turn the paperwork in for April's graduation, but he is pretty much done at BYU! (except for 2 classes that he has to take sometime before starting dental school fall 2009 no big deal) Woohoo! I am so grateful to have such a hardworking, loving, smart, sexy husband. GOOD JOB MASON, I LOVE YOU!!!

Oregon

This past week Cooper & I went to Oregon to visit my family. It was finals week for Mason and he needed to do really well on all of them so we left him at home to study in peace. We had so much fun in Oregon, it was so great to get to spend so much time with my family. We were there for 6 days, so it gave Cooper a chance to really get to know all of his aunts & uncles and Grammy & Grampa. He definately got plenty of attention while we were there(I am the oldest of 13).There was always someone waiting for their turn to play with Cooper or just give him a hug. I wish that I had gotten a picture with everyone.

We had lots & lots of fun, but I hated being away from Mason for so long and Cooper missed his Daddy so much. If anyone said "daddy" Cooper would usually look around for Mason & then when he realized he wasn't there he would get really sad. I love that Mason & Cooper have such a strong bond. It's so nice to be back home with Mason, I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband! Now, my family just needs to move here to Utah and everything would be absolutely perfect. I hate being so far away.

Cooper Visiting Omi & Opi

While we were in Oregon this past week Cooper got to visit his great grandparents, my Omi & Opi. I am so happy that he got to spend some time with them and I will always cherish these picturesof him with them. We love you Omi & Opi!!!

Monday Funday

Yesterday was great. The sun was shining, and it was really warm. Cooper & I spent most of the day outside, it was so nice. Unfortunately, today Cooper is sick & throwing up, it is overcast and looks like it's going to start raining soon. I guess that the weather goes along with how Cooper is feeling today. Well, here are a bunch of pictures from yesterday before my cute Cooper was feeling sick.

I know it's a ton of pictures, but both of Cooper's Grandmas live in different states so they like to see all the pictures they can.

Sunny Sunday

Today was such a great day. Cooper went to nursery for the first time and he loved it! Cooper won't be 18 months old for another month but today I talked to the nursery leader and she said he could go to nursery if I stayed with him. For the last couple of months church has been really hard because Cooper just goes absolutely crazy, all he wants to do is run around and play with any kids that he sees, you can forget trying to get him to sit in one place for 2 minutes let alone 3 HOURS. He was in heaven playing with all the kids and toys during nursery, he didn't want anything to do with me and probably wouldn't have even noticed if I would have left. He got really mad when nursery time was over and it was time to leave!

It was such a gorgeous day, it made it up to 68 degrees and we sure enjoyed it. The boys even wore shorts! We went to feed the ducks and we found a really cool slide. Today is how spring days are meant to be, too bad it's supposed to go back down to the fifties in a couple days, I'll be happy as long as it doesn't snow this week. Please don't snow this week!!!

Idol Gives Back

Idol Gives Back is tomorrow. Last week they showed a little video clip showing what some of the money from last year's show has done. The video is about homeless children living on the streets of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I was very touched by this video, and I'm so happy that I was able to find it on Youtube. Many of you know that my brother Jason (with the help of my family) has recently started a non profit organization, it is called "Where Love Is" and it is devoted to helping homeless children living on the streets of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He is living there right now. Two of my sisters and one of my brothers are from this city, and came from similar circumstances that this video shows (before being taken in by an orphanage). We can all help make a difference in the lives of these children, please take the time to watch this video and check out whereloveis.org.
Only the first couple minutes are about the children in Ethiopia the rest is just Dolly singing or something.

Great Weekend

This weekend Mason's parents came up. It was great to get to see them! Yesterday Mason's Mom watched Cooper so that Mason, his Dad & I were able to go to the afternoon session of General Conference, it was wonderful. Afterwards we all went for a drive out to Antelope island. We saw lots of buffalo, Cooper thought all of the "Bubbas" were super cool. Cooper sure enjoyed having his grandparents here and we're all sad that they had to leave this morning. Family visits always seem to go too fast.

Ouch!

Yesterday Cooper tripped out our back door and fell face first onto the cement. He scraped his nose all up and got a goose egg but you can't see it in the pictures. When Mason came home it was kind of funny because he was proud of his "tough guy" who was "so adventurous" that he scraped his face all up, and "we'll probably have to take him to the Emergency room a lot." Dads sure are a lot different than Moms in some ways. From the looks of things I think that Cooper was proud of himself too.

Playdate With Kate

Yesterday Cooper and I drove out to see our old neighbors, the Lotz. They used to live in the same four-plex that we did and they moved about the same time as us. Unfortunately, they moved South to Santaquin & we moved North to Bountiful. Cooper used to play with Kate all the time and he has sure missed having a friend right next door for when he gets bored. The two of them were VERY happy to see each other and were laughing at each other hysterically for the first little while. We had lots of fun, and hope to get together again soon!
